About Dolphin Radar
Dolphin Radar is an Instagram activity tracker from Seshat Lab in Singapore. You give it a public username, and about a week later it builds a report of that account's likes, new follows, unfollows and tags, then a new one every week. Its Recent Follower Tracker and story viewer are free to try; the reports and the unfollower list are paid, one account per plan. It never asks for an Instagram password, and the account you watch is never told.
Is Dolphin Radar legit?
Yes. It's a real product, and it doesn't want your Instagram login. The complaints are about money, not hacked accounts: its Trustpilot score is 2.2 out of 5 from 21 reviews, and the most common one-star story is a plan that couldn't be cancelled or a report that came back empty. If you try it, note the renewal date.
Did Dolphin Radar stop working?
Partly, in September 2026. Instagram's following lists stopped coming out newest-first around 9 September, for every tool, and Reddit filled up with Dolphin Radar users whose recent-follows list had gone out of order. A support email one of them posted said the sorting was still being adjusted.
The lists still load. What nobody can get back is the order, which is why a tracker now has to save the list and compare it over time.
Dolphin Radar's Recent Follower Tracker vs ours
Its Recent Follower Tracker is free to try and, Reddit users say, shows the newest five follows. For more, you add the account to a plan and wait for the weekly report.
Our recent follow tracker works the other way round. Type the username and the first check shows real accounts from the following list, with the counts. Start Premium on that account and we save the full list, check it regularly, and show each new follow once we've double-checked it, with the date we found it. Neither tool can show follows from before it started watching.
Who unfollowed: what each one shows
Dolphin Radar's free check shows who doesn't follow an account back. The list of who unfollowed is a paid report, $9.90 once or from $8.90 a month.
Our first check shows at least how many people don't follow back, with real accounts from the lists. Tracking starts when Premium starts, and from then on each unfollow is emailed to you by name, after we've confirmed it.
What Dolphin Radar does that we don't
Likes, comments, tags, interests, a story viewer. If you want to know what an account likes, Dolphin Radar is built for that and we aren't. We do the lists: who's on them, who's new, who left.
Two limits of ours worth knowing. We can't check accounts that follow more than 15,000, and above 15,000 followers we read the following list only. How we check has the rest.
Questions people ask
Does Dolphin Radar notify the person?
No. It reads public lists, so the account never gets a notification. The same is true here: nobody is told when you check.
Is Dolphin Radar free?
Partly. The Recent Follower Tracker and the story viewer are free to try; the weekly reports and the unfollower list are paid, and there is no free trial on its standard plans. Our first check is free, and tracking is Premium.

Does Dolphin Radar work on private accounts?
No. Private accounts hide their lists from every tool, Dolphin Radar and us included. Its own page warns that private accounts can show up as unfollowers in its reports.
Can Dolphin Radar show who someone is following?
Yes, for public accounts. Its following viewer shows the list. Its Recent Follower Tracker shows accounts “new since DolphinRadar saved the first Following list”; the free version shows the last five, Reddit users say. Here, the first check shows real accounts from the following list, and Premium shows their recent following, with the date we found each new follow.
Can it show who someone followed before I started?
No. Dolphin Radar says it doesn't reconstruct earlier follows, and no tool can, because Instagram keeps no public record of when a follow happened. Dolphin Radar starts when you add the account; we start when Premium starts.
Can I see an Instagram profile anonymously?
Looking at a public profile or its lists doesn't notify anyone; Instagram only reports actions like follows, likes and comments. To see who a public account follows, type its username above. No Instagram login, and nobody is notified.
