Compare Instagram followers and following from your export
A free, safe and private website for your Instagram export: drop the ZIP to see who doesn't follow you back. It's read locally in your browser, never uploaded, and you never give your password.
- Free
- No password
- Never uploaded
- Works offline
Don't take our word for it: turn on airplane mode, then drop your file. It still works.
How to get your Instagram export
In Instagram, open Settings, then Accounts Center. Some accounts show Meta Account here instead.
Open Your information and permissions, then Export your information. Older guides call it Download your information.
Tap Create export, pick your Instagram profile, then Export to device.
Choose the info to export and tick only Followers and following.
Set the date range to All time, and the format to JSON or HTML.
Instagram emails you when it's ready. Download the ZIP from Available downloads within four days and drop it above. No need to unzip it.
All time matters: with a shorter range, people who followed you before it are left out of the file.
Questions people ask
What is Compare Instagram Followers?
Compare Instagram Followers is a free website from UnfollowerTrack that compares your Instagram followers and following from the file Instagram gives you when you export your information. Drop the ZIP, or the JSON or HTML files inside it, and see who doesn't follow you back. Add an older export to see who left. No sign-up, no password.
How do I see who unfollowed me without giving my password?
Compare two of your own Instagram exports from different dates. Request each one in Accounts Center with Followers and following and All time, then drop the older and the newer ZIP here. Everyone gone from your followers is listed by username. Each one may be an unfollow, or a deleted, deactivated or renamed account, which looks the same.
Is it safe to compare my Instagram data on a website?
Yes: your browser reads the file locally, on your own phone or computer, and never uploads it. Your file and the names in it are never sent to us or anyone else, and the page never asks for your Instagram password. Check it yourself: load the page, turn on airplane mode, then drop your file. It still works.
How do I get the file?
In Instagram, open Settings, then Accounts Center, then Your information and permissions, then Export your information (older guides call it Download your information). Tap Create export, pick your profile, then Export to device. Pick only Followers and following, set the date range to All time, and choose JSON or HTML. Instagram emails you when the ZIP is ready.
JSON or HTML: which should I pick?
Both work here. JSON and HTML are two formats of the same export: JSON is meant for programs, HTML opens like a web page. Pick either when you request the export, or drop whatever you already have. The tool finds the followers and following files inside the ZIP and reads either one. Follow dates from HTML files show only when they're in English.
What does one export show?
One export shows your followers and the accounts you follow, as they were on the day Instagram made the file. From those two lists you see who doesn't follow you back, who you don't follow back, and your mutuals. It can't show who unfollowed you, because one file has nothing to compare against.
What do two exports show?
Two exports from different dates show what changed in between: accounts that are gone from your followers, new followers, and accounts you started or stopped following. Drop the older ZIP and the newer one. Both should cover All time, or people who followed you before the date range can look missing.
Why is someone missing who didn't unfollow me?
A name missing from your newer export isn't proof of an unfollow. The account may be deleted, deactivated or suspended, may have changed its username (it then shows up as a new follower under the new name), or may have blocked you. A shorter date range on one export also hides older followers. Check the profile on Instagram.
How is this different from other list-compare tools?
It reads the ZIP exactly as Instagram sends it, so there is nothing to unzip or copy and paste. It warns you when the export covers less than All time, explains why a missing name isn't always an unfollow, and shows no ads. Your file is read in your browser and never uploaded.
Do I need to unzip it?
No. Drop the ZIP as Instagram sent it. The page finds the followers and following files inside and skips your photos and messages. If your browser already unzipped it, drop the folder, or every followers file (followers_1, followers_2…) and following from its connections/followers_and_following folder.
My export is big. Does it still work?
Usually, yes. The page reads only the followers and following files and skips photos and messages without opening them. In our test (October 2026, Chrome on a computer), a 315 MB export with 50,000 followers was read in under three seconds. We haven't tested bigger exports or phones yet.
Can I do this without downloading anything?
If your account is public, yes. UnfollowerTrack checks a public username with no password and no file. The first check is free and shows real accounts from your lists and how many accounts you follow that don't follow you back. Tracking who unfollows you is part of Premium, which is paid, and starts the day you get it.
Rather not wait for an export? UnfollowerTrack can check a public username with no password, and our who doesn't follow you back checker works from a username too.
